Dealing with Depression – Monday 7th November

Dealing With DepressionMon 7th Nov 2016: 7.30pm to 8.30pm Carrigaline Community Centre

Dr Ivan Watson MB BCh BAO a former GP turned pastor guides us through this common struggle with reflections and information from science & spirituality.

Ivan trained as a medical doctor and worked as a GP before becoming a Christian Pastor. He now lives in Cavan and is married to Carol who works as a psychiatric doctor. They have three children aged from 12 to 18. Both Ivan & Carol became interested in mental illness while they were medical students. Ivan talked with many depressed people during his time working in hospitals and as a GP. He acknowledges the usefulness of current treatments for depression in many cases but also senses the need for counseling which takes our spiritual dimension into account. This was one of the factors that led him to leave medical practice and become a full time pastor. This has brought him into contact with many people troubled by a range of issues including depression, anxiety, abuse, addiction and suicidal thoughts. Ivan has a heart for helping people through presenting information and dealing with individual questions.

The audio from the talk is now available for playback below:

CHRISTMAS MORNING

Please join us as we gather to celebrate on Christmas Morning!

10.00am Thursday December 25th 2014 at the Carrigaline Community Complex.

It will be a short (less than an hour), family friendly service where we will remember and celebrate Christmas together through hearing from the Bible and singing Christmas Hymns.

No Service in Carrigaline Sunday 23-Sept

There will be no Sunday Morning Service at Carrigaline Baptist Church on Sunday 23rd September 2012.

But fear not! We are still gathering – but instead of just gathering with our usual group from Carrigaline we will be gathering with other Baptist Churches from Cork/Kerry.

So instead of meeting with us in Carrigaline, please join with us and our sister Churches in Midleton Park Hotel at 11.00am.

4th March – No Regular Meeting

There will be no regular Sunday Morning meeting at 11.00am on the 4th of March. This is because we are holding our annual Church weekend away that weekend.

Instead we’d encourage people to join us on the Sunday at our weekend venue near Bandon, Co. Cork. If you need further details then please contact us.

Good Friday 2011

We will have a short gathering on Friday 22nd April 2011 at 10am to remember and reflect on the death of Jesus.  The meeting will be held in a home, but people are warmly invited to attend and be part of the gathering.

If you’d like to join us then please get in touch and we can give let you know further details of where we will be meeting.
